In every community, there are individuals who stand out not just for their professional achievements but for their dedication to making the world a better place. One such individual is Papama Mateza, a true asset to Sikhula Sonke Early Childhood Development and a phenomenal man in every sense of the word.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Dedication and Reliability<\/h5>\n

Papama Mateza’s commitment to Sikhula Sonke Early Childhood Development is unwavering. His dedication and reliability have made a significant impact on the organisation, earning him the admiration and respect of his colleagues. His role goes beyond mere job responsibilities; he embodies the spirit of service and dedication that our organization strives for.<\/p>\n

Achievements and Contributions<\/h5>\n

Over the years, Papama has achieved remarkable milestones. He is recognised as one of the top Early Learning Outcomes Measure (ELOM) assessors in South Africa. This recognition is not just a testament to his skills but also his passion for Early Childhood Development. Papama frequently travels to support other organisations, sharing his expertise and knowledge.<\/p>\n

One of his standout contributions is his work with the “Fatherhood Network” programme in Khayelitsha. Through this initiative, he engages fathers in the community, promoting active and positive involvement in their children’s lives. This programme has brought about significant positive changes, reinforcing the importance of fatherhood and community involvement.<\/p>\n

Role and Passion<\/h5>\n

Papama holds the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Sikhula Sonke. In this capacity, he meticulously measures and evaluates the progress of all our programmes. His work ensures that we continuously improve and meet the needs of the communities we serve. His passion for his job is evident in the quality of his work and his willingness to assist others whenever necessary.<\/p>\n

In His Own Words: An Interview with Papama Mateza<\/h4>\n

To get a deeper insight into what makes Papama a phenomenal man, a conversation was had with him about his life, inspirations, and achievements.<\/p>\n

“I grew up in Cape Town, specifically in Site B. From a young age, I aspired to become an advocate. I attended Chumisa Primary School, Manzomthombo Senior Secondary School, and later the South African Law School. My childhood was filled with dreams of making a difference in the legal field.”<\/p>\n

“My mother is my role model. She raised me as a single parent and did an amazing job. Her strength and resilience are qualities I deeply admire and strive to emulate.”<\/p>\n

Tertiary Education<\/h5>\n

“I hold a paralegal diploma. Accessing higher education was relatively straightforward for me, thanks to a bursary opportunity connected to my mother’s work. As a student, I faced challenges with tough modules, but my passion for legal studies and my dreams of becoming an advocate kept me going.”<\/p>\n

Professional Journey<\/h5>\n

“I chose my profession because I wanted to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. My work as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer allows me to ensure our programs are effective and impactful. I also train new ELOM assessors, sharing my knowledge and expertise to benefit others.”<\/p>\n

Biggest Achievements<\/h5>\n

“Being recognised as the best assessor in South Africa is one of my proudest achievements. This recognition has allowed me to share my knowledge with colleagues and train new assessors, extending the benefits to a wider community.”<\/p>\n

“Having a stable job has greatly improved my life and allowed me to support my family and community. Overcoming challenges has made me stronger and more resilient, inspiring others to persevere through their own difficulties.”<\/p>\n

“Giving back is crucial. Sharing is caring, and by helping others, you create a ripple effect of positivity. You often receive blessings in return, making the act of giving even more rewarding.”<\/p>\n

“Being a man means being a provider, a protector, and, most importantly, a positive role model for the community.”<\/p>\n
