HCI FOUNDATION

PROGRAMMES

Our Focus Areas

The HCI Foundation’s programmes have three main focus areas: education at all levels, youth and skills development and the environment.

Our programmes include:

Education

Our Education Programme funds initiatives at tertiary, secondary and primary levels. The Bursary and Mentorship Programme is our flagship tertiary level programme. All our bursary recipients are encouraged to give back by participating in community-based activities or acting as mentors to new students.

Youth and Skills Development

Our Development and Enrichment Programme funds organisations that provide skills and creative arts training opportunities for young people to assist them in becoming economically active, building their confidence and maximising their potential.

Environment

Our environmental focus supports initiatives which enable communities to develop resources and infrastructure. Our Environmental Programmes raise awareness of the importance of natural resources for building sustainability at the community level.

In addition to our three major
focus areas
we also fund:

Community Transport Support

The Community Transport Support Programme is run in the Western Cape in partnership with Golden Arrow Bus Services, which provides transport for 33 projects in science and education, community upliftment, skills development, visual and performing arts, and sport and heritage.

Refugee and Advocacy Support

The HCI Foundation supports initiatives which assist refugees in rebuilding their lives in South Africa, in becoming self–sufficient, and in this way, contribute to the country’s development.
