HCI Foundation Grant Programme
Investing in South Africa's Future
The HCI Foundation (HCIF) Grant Programme supports non-profit organisations (NPOs) that work with South African communities to become self-reliant and sustainable. The programme partners with organisations that can demonstrate the following: effective internal control systems, good governance, effective risk management practices, impact, reliability, clear vision, programme relevance, achievable and realistic goals, thought leadership, and good relationships with the communities they work with.

Education
We seek to support initiatives that provide access to quality learning opportunities and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
Environment
We prioritise projects that promote conservation, sustainability, and the protection of natural resources for future generations.
Youth Development and Skills
Our grants aim to enable programmes that equip young people with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in their communities and beyond.
Who is qualified For Grant
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications from South African Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) with a strong history of community programme implementation.
- Although the HCIF strives to provide grants to as many organisations as possible, not all will qualify. Furthermore, not all organisations will be awarded grants due to limited funding.
- The HCIF may fund religious organisations to implement a social service programme which benefits the whole community irrespective of religious affiliation.
- NPOs/NGOs/PBOs registered with the Department of Social Development and South African Revenue Services (SARS).
- Operating in South Africa.

- Events
- Infrastructure
- Political Organisations
- Golf days
- Exhibitions
- Fundraising dinners
- Profit-making organisations (such as closed corporations and companies)
- Endowment funds
